Halloween 2024 is almost upon us, and so it's time to blow the cobwebs off the blog and get ready for this year's Countdown to Halloween! As always, I'll be joining a bunch of bloggers who have ganged up to post content relating to our favourite season! And as usual clicking the Countdown to Halloween badges will whisk you off to the Countdown Hub where you'll find a list of all of this year's participants....
You can even join in with the fun yourself if you have a blog, and are quick, as there is still time to sign up and be included in the list. Just follow the rules over at the hub!
I'll also use this post to give an update to the update's update! I've had a bit of a crappy year healthwise, as after the initial rubbish at the end of last year with covid and H Pylori, I then came out in a load of mysterious spots (which turned out to be some rather aggressve psoriasis) and pains all over my body. The Doc thought this might be the start of psoriatic arthritis, so I went for X-Rays and scans to see if there was any sign, and while initial results suggest there is nothing, the fact I'm still getting some pains means I'm now waiting on a visit to a rheumatologist for further examination, but I've been waiting for that since February, so....and I got various ointments for my psoriasis which seem to have helped a bit and it has mostly cleared up for now.....
And then about 7 weeks ago, I got a random bout of Shingles, most likely activated due to my rubbish immune system! I managed to shift that after an itchy few weeks, and then was well enough to go and visit Beamish, The Living Museum in Durham with my mother! Which was great, until it became apart halfway through our visit that my mum was unwell with what we later discovered was Covid! Again!!
And so for the last two weeks, we've been shut indoors in a house filled with the plague.....but I have been testing negative! My mum, dad and brother have all been coughing and wheezing, but I've just had symtoms which are more like mild hayfever, which given the amount of tractors cutting crops and making hay bails everywhere, might just be exactly what I have! Things seem to be improving again now, and having done a second test I'm still Covid free, but I'm waiting for everyone else to test negative just in case. Let's just cross everything and hope that me starting up the blog doesn't awaken the Curse!!!
Anyway, that brings us up to date....and so I'll be posting when and what I can throughout October, but will be making no big promises to post everyday or anything. I INTEND to, but I'm not going to worry myself if I don't feel up to it. But let's hope all goes swimmingly and we have a whole month of spooky shenanigans!
See you all here in a few days for the Countdown kick-off!!
Sorry you have been unwell for so long. Let's hope you will be rounding the bend and October will help with that, at least mentally!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe! Fingers crossed! Hope you are keeping well!?
DeleteOkay, dealing with health issues, but keeping on keeping on! Looking forward to the Ber Months ahead!

DeleteYikes I have had shingles and it isn't any fun. I hope you have recovered.
ReplyDeleteThanks, yeah....seem to have recovered from them and depite feeling a bit tired and hayfevery, Covid seems to have skipped me this time! Tested negative all the way through and didn't get the cough that everyone else seemed to have... hopefully it'll be a while before I have to deal with it again!
